About product

RAF mechanic personnel 1940-45 No. 1 (1:32, Black Dog)

A resin figure set in 1:32 scale from the Czech brand Black Dog. It represents a ground personnel mechanic of the Royal Air Force (RAF) of the years 1940 to 1945 and is meant to bring aviation dioramas with British machines to life.

The real subject

The ground personnel of the RAF kept the combat machines serviceable throughout the war, from the Battle of Britain to the closing campaigns. Mechanics topped up fuel and ammunition, checked the engines and airframes and prepared the fighters for takeoff. The figure sets the model into the real surroundings of an airfield.

Building and painting tips

Wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water and remove the casting blocks. Sand the surfaces with your airways protected and join them with cyanoacrylate glue. After the base coat, work the figure up with acrylics or oils; with British personnel the blue-gray and khaki tones of the overalls suit well.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of aviation dioramas with British aircraft in 1:32 scale
  • Collectors of Second World War RAF subjects
  • More advanced modelers with experience of resin

The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and the aircraft model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
