About product

RAF mechanic personnel 1940-45 No. 2 (1:32, Black Dog)

A resin figure set in 1:32 scale from the Czech brand Black Dog. It captures a ground personnel mechanic of the Royal Air Force (RAF) of the years 1940 to 1945 and serves to bring aviation dioramas with British machines to life.

The real subject

Without its ground personnel the RAF could not have kept its machines in the fight. Mechanics looked after the engines, topped up fuel and ammunition and prepared the aircraft between sorties. The figure ties a static model to an airfield scene and gives it a convincing sense of scale and atmosphere.

Building and painting tips

Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with your airways protected. It is assembled with cyanoacrylate glue, and gaps can be filled with putty. Once the base coat is on, finish the figure with acrylics or oils, concentrating on the overalls, the face and the equipment.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers of aviation dioramas in 1:32 scale
  • Anyone interested in Second World War RAF subjects
  • More advanced builders with experience of resin

The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and the aircraft model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
