The set of precisely die-cut express fit painting masks from Art Scale is intended for models of the American carrier-borne SBD-5/A-24B Dauntless dive bomber in 1:32 scale. The double-sided finish means masks for the outer and the inner side of the glazing, so the frames look clean from both views.
The masks are stuck onto the glazing and the frames of the canopy, and then the color of the frames is sprayed on. Once they are taken off, clear glass and sharp, precisely bounded frames are left. The express fit system is shaped exactly for the given glazing, so setting it is quick. The masks are intended for the Dauntless kit from Trumpeter in this scale.
Degrease the glazing, set the mask exactly with no bubbles and spray in thin coats perpendicular to the surface, so that the paint does not run under the edge. Fit the inner masks before the canopy is closed up. Take the mask off before the paint cures completely.
This is a masking accessory, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
