Art Scale 1:32 SBD-5/A-24B Dauntless one-sided express fit mask is a single-sided masking set for the glazing of a model of the Douglas Dauntless dive bomber in 1:32 scale. The masks are cut to the shape of the frames of the Trumpeter kit.

The masking set from the Czech maker Art Scale is intended for a model of the Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless dive bomber and its army version the A-24B in 1:32 scale. The masks are shaped to the glazing of the Trumpeter kit, so the long job of cutting strips of masking tape and measuring frames by eye falls away.
First degrease the glazing and let it dry out completely. Carry the individual pieces of the mask with tweezers, press them down above all at the edges and apply the paint in several thin coats, so that it does not run under the edge. The one-sided designation means that the set deals with one side of the glazing; the double-sided versions of the same range differ precisely in adding the other side of the canopy as well.
The Douglas SBD Dauntless was a carrier-borne dive bomber of the US Navy and one of the symbols of the war in the Pacific. The SBD-5 version was among the later and most numerous batches, while the army A-24B came about as a land-based counterpart without the equipment for carrier operation. A long glazed cockpit with two stations makes masking one of the most time-consuming parts of a build, and that is exactly where a ready-made mask pays off most.
This is a masking accessory for painting a model and is sold separately. Neither paints nor the target model are included in the package.
