The set contains resin exhausts of the oval type for a 1:32 model of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX fighter. This is not an airplane model but an aftermarket accessory from Quickboost (a line of the Aires brand). The crisply cast stubs have carefully worked outlets and replace the plastic parts from the box.
The Spitfire Mk.IX was one of the most successful versions of the legendary British fighter. It came about as an answer to the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighters and was powered by a two-stage supercharged Rolls-Royce Merlin of the 60 series. The oval-type exhausts are a characteristic and eye-catching detail of the nose.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts and carefully cut off the casting blocks. Bond the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The exhaust outlets can be drilled out for greater depth; a combination of metallic and rusty shades suits the authentic look. Protect your airways while sanding.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without glue. The base kit and the paints are not included in the package.
