Eduard Spitfire Mk.IX masks 1:32 is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set for a model of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX fighter. It gives crisp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage. It is not a model but a masking aid.
Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:32 scale is intended for a plastic model of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX fighter. It is neither a kit nor a model in its own right, but a set of precisely shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want crisp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage areas without tediously cutting tape by hand.
The Supermarine Spitfire is among the best-known British fighters of the Second World War. The Mk.IX version came about as a quick answer to the new German Fw 190 fighters and was given a powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin of the 60 series with a two-stage supercharger. Thanks to it the Spitfire kept its advantage at high altitude and ranked among the most successful Allied fighters of the second half of the war.
Degrease the glazing of the canopy and let it dry. Lift the masks off the backing, lay them on the frame of the windscreen and the teardrop section of the canopy and press them into the edges. Spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. The masks for the wheels separate the tire from the disc. Once the paint has dried, peel the masks off carefully at a shallow angle, so that the fresh coat is not torn away.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
