An injection-molded plastic model of the German 3.7 cm Pak 36 anti-tank gun in 1:72 scale from the Zvezda range. The set holds the gun itself on its split-trail carriage and crew figures in combat poses, so a small diorama can easily be built from it. The parts are designed as snap-fit, clicking together, so the basic assembly can be managed even without glue.
The Pak 36 was a light anti-tank gun of 3.7 cm caliber that became the main anti-tank weapon of the German army at the beginning of the Second World War. Against the light and medium tanks of the day it was effective at first, but as more heavily armored vehicles arrived its penetrating power no longer sufficed, and from 1942 it was gradually replaced by the stronger 5 cm Pak 38. Its low weight let the crew move it easily over rough ground.
Carefully separate the small parts from the sprues and clean them up. Even though this is a snap-fit kit, a drop of thin cement for plastic will make the joints stronger. Apply a primer before painting, then paint the gun and the figures with an airbrush or a brush; on the crew pay attention to the faces and to the shading of the uniforms. A fine wash and a dry brush will add patina and depth.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
