The Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker B is a kit of the heavy Soviet air superiority fighter in 1:32 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter. In this scale it makes a giant model almost 70 cm long with photo-etched parts, metal landing gear and a full set of R-27 and R-73 missiles.

An injection-molded plastic kit of the single-seat heavy fighter Su-27 in 1:32 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter. The package contains roughly 350 parts, a photo-etched fret, landing gear in white metal with working oleos (the manufacturer also encloses a plastic alternative for anyone who does not want to work with metal), rubber tires and a clear instrument panel with a backing film. The cockpit is put together from dozens of parts and contains a faithful K-36D ejection seat with a photo-etched harness. The dorsal airbrake, the canopy, the rudders and flaps, the brake-parachute door and the panels revealing the GSh-301 cannon are all movable. Ten hardpoints will carry the enclosed R-27 (Alamo) and R-73 (Archer) missiles. The decals cover one Soviet machine from the beginning of the 1990s plus a complete set of technical markings.
The Su-27 is a heavy air superiority fighter - a large twin-engined aircraft built to face the American F-15. It became famous for two things: exceptional agility, demonstrated at air shows by the maneuver known as Pugachev's cobra, and a long range thanks to its enormous internal fuel capacity, which made it a machine capable of long patrol flights. The designation Flanker B belongs to the basic single-seat combat version. Do not confuse it with the Su-27UB, which is a separate kit - the UB is the two-seat combat-trainer variant with a second cockpit and a different rear end. If you want the classic single-seat fighter, this is the right box.
The Su-27 is a large aircraft in reality as well, so in 1:32 scale it makes a true giant - make ready enough room not only in your display cabinet but also on your workbench. Finish the cockpit, the bays and the seat before the fuselage is closed up; degrease the metal landing gear legs and glue them with super glue. The long seams on the fuselage and the nacelles call for patient filling and sanding - on surfaces this extensive absolutely every ripple shows, so always spray a primer and check the surface in a sharp light. Lay the camouflage scheme on with an airbrush with soft transitions and seat the decals on a gloss varnish. Paint the missiles and the hardpoints separately and fit them only at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
