1:32 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc is a 3D textured instrument panel from Red Fox Studio on decal paper, cut for the Revell kit in 1:32 scale. It is applied by soaking, like a decal.
Responsibility details are not available.
An instrument panel printed in color and textured in relief from Red Fox Studio, carried on decal paper. It is laid into the cockpit like a decal — soaked off in water, slid onto the base and it holds by itself. This particular panel is cut for the Revell kit in 1:32 scale; a version for the Tamiya kit exists under the same name, so check before ordering which kit you have at home.
The Spitfire has one of the tightest cockpits of its generation. The pilot sits between tubular side members, the main panel is small and its core is a crowded group of flight instruments with round dials, completed by small engine gauges and switches around the edge. The sidewalls are not smooth panels but exposed structure with rods and control levers. Through the bulged canopy and the hinged side door more of the cockpit is visible than you would expect, and in 1:32 scale every badly painted dial shows at once.
The cockpit of a Spitfire is usually fitted into the fuselage as an assembled unit, so first do a dry fit to check that the tub, including the thickness of the print, drops in without resistance and that the canopy can be closed. Only then paint the interior and let the paint cure thoroughly. Lay the panel on as the last step inside the cockpit, after the sidewalls and the seat are finished — a wet print does not get on with having neighboring parts moved about. Draw the water out from under it, let it dry for a day and only then seat the tub in the fuselage.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model of the aircraft. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
