US 1000lb bombs 1:32 is an Eduard resin set from the Brassin line, that is cast armament. It is neither photo-etch nor a kit but add-on external stores for an aircraft model.

This item differs from the etched lines in material and in purpose alike. It is not thin metal sheet for an interior but castings in resin in Eduard's Brassin line that replace external stores. Resin allows a full volume with sharp edges on the fins and a fine surface, that is shapes that injection-molded plastic solves with a split part and a parting line down the middle. The subject of the set is American aerial bombs of the 1000 pound weight class in 1:32 scale.
Bombs are not a model in themselves. They are added to the pylons under the wing or into the bomb bay, and they change the overall impression of a finished machine decisively. A cockpit can be hidden, but the stores are always visible, and a poor plastic casting with a visible parting line drags the whole model down. In the large 1:32 scale that counts twice over, because every surface detail is magnified.
Wash the castings first in lukewarm water with detergent to remove the residue of the mold release agent from the mold. Without that the paint will not hold. Do not snap the casting blocks off; cut them with a saw or a cutting disc and polish the face with abrasive paper. When sanding resin, always protect your airways and work wet, as the dust is unpleasant. They are bonded exclusively with super glue, as plastic cement has no effect on resin. A primer is needed before painting. Apply metallic shades and colored bands over masking tape, not freehand. Dry-fit the pylons before you glue anything, so that the bombs hang parallel to the axis of the machine.
This is an add-on set, not a standalone kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
