A set of three-dimensional decals from the Kelik brand for the cockpit interior of a model of the Japanese A6M2b carrier fighter in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit and not a photo-etched set. A three-dimensional decal is applied in the ordinary way, but it carries relief of its own and comes colored in advance, so the instrument panel and the side walls of the cockpit gain depth and legible detail without lengthy painting of tiny elements with a brush.
The A6M2b was an early production version of the fighter the Allies designated with the name Zeke and which to this day is better known as the Zero. It was a design built on extreme saving of weight: it had exceptional range, excellent agility and folding wingtips for operating from carrier decks. In the first months of the war in the Pacific it came as an unpleasant surprise, because it outclassed practically everything it met. In 1:32 scale it is a large model with a clearly visible cockpit, where detail quickly pays off.
Prepare the base smooth and if possible glossy, otherwise silvering will appear under the decal. Work with plenty of water and move the decal with a soft brush. In broken-up places a decal softener applied sparingly helps; let it then work without touching it. Finish the cockpit before you close the fuselage.
