A 3D-printed kit capturing the later form of the American MJ-1A lift truck for loading munitions, in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MJ-1A is a low wheeled truck used by US Air Force ground crews to lift bombs and rockets under the racks of aircraft. Among mechanics it picked up the nickname Jammer. The load sits on a hydraulically operated platform with a fork at the front, the operator rides at the rear, and the whole vehicle is low enough to pass under a wing. This set captures the later form of the truck; the early version can be bought separately.
This is a 3D-printed kit in 1:32 scale. On a truck full of tube frames, levers and small fittings, printing allows detail that would be hard to achieve in injection-molded plastic. The price of that fineness is fragility, so handle the parts calmly. The extent of the package and the assembly sequence are in the instructions supplied with the kit.
Cut the print supports away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder so that you do not cut into the surface. The material is not polystyrene, so cement for plastic will not help; use super glue and apply it in minute amounts. Before painting, wash the parts, degrease them and spray them with primer. Airfield equipment tends to be dirty with oil and wear, so it pays to emphasize the edges and add traces of service; a primed base takes that better than a bare surface.
The set suits ground crew scenes and aircraft models in the same scale. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
