This item is a printed kit of the MHU-83 B/E munitions lift truck from Reskit, this time with the cradle drawn up. The truck thus looks exactly as it does at the moment when the crew is hanging a load under the wing or the fuselage. For a scene this is a rewarding position, because by itself it tells what is going on at the flight line.
Munitions trucks with the nickname Jammer belong to the basic equipment of ground personnel. A frame on four wheels carries a movable platform, which the hydraulics lift to working height and tilt to the needed plane. The armorers can thus manage to hang a load that they would not lift by hand. The service of this equipment reaches from the 1960s to the present and its silhouette has changed over that time only in details.
Before work free the sets of grease by gentle washing and let them dry perfectly. Remove the supporting struts with a saw or a cutter and level the areas with a sanding sponge, wet, so that no dust flies. Join the parts with cyanoacrylate glue, with an accelerator on larger areas if needed. Start painting with a thin primer, leave the hydraulic rams glossy and bring out the metal parts with graphite or silver pigment; at the end a discreet dusting around the wheels helps.
The kit comes unassembled and without a coat; obtain glue and paints separately.
