An injection-molded plastic kit of the carrier version of the Hawker Hurricane fighter in 1:48 scale from the Polish manufacturer Arma Hobby. The modern tooling is completed by 3D-printed resin parts that raise the level of detail (among other things the fine barrels of the wing cannons) and by self-adhesive masks; the decal sheet offers several markings. Check the exact package contents against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Sea Hurricane was the naval version of the famous British Hawker Hurricane fighter, adapted for operation from aircraft carriers. Compared with the land version it received a tailhook and a strengthened airframe for the demands of carrier service. The Mk.IIc version carried an armament of four 20 mm Hispano cannons in the wing. Sea Hurricanes covered Allied convoys and also operated from improvised catapult ships in the hardest period of the Battle of the Atlantic.
Separate the 3D-printed resin parts from the print supports and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your breathing while sanding. Paint the cockpit interior and bring it out before closing the fuselage, and mask the glazed areas with the enclosed masks. Lay the naval camouflage scheme down with an airbrush over a primer; underline the salt-laden service life with a fine wash and discreet wear on the leading edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
