Self-adhesive grass tufts from the Wild Shapes range, 2 mm high in the rusty brown shade of dry earth.
Responsibility details are not available.
Low tufts of vegetation two millimeters high in the rusty brown tone of growth on poor, dried-out ground. They suit places where a scene is to look abandoned: the edges of worn ruts, the foot of a wall, parked-up vehicles, or spots where only sparse grass pushes through bare earth. On the base of a diorama they break up the uniform surface of the scatter and give it depth.
The underside is self-adhesive, so it is enough to lift a tuft off the backing sheet with tweezers and press it into place. The surface has to be dry and free of dust. On loose scatter they hold less well, so add a drop of PVA glue (white glue) under the tuft and leave the joint undisturbed to dry. Lay the tufts irregularly, in clumps of varying density, and keep checking the scene from the side, that is from the view the onlooker will see it from.
The rusty tone goes with earthy and ocher shades of the ground and will take darker pigments at the roots, which settle the growth into the terrain. Next to fresh green tufts it creates a natural transition between a damp and a parched spot. Two millimeters correspond in 1:35 scale to about seven centimeters of real height, and in the large 1:16 scale to only around three.
A base, terrain support, scatter, pigments and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
