A resin detail set in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Aires. It is not an aircraft kit but a replacement for the landing gear bays (wheel bays) of the modern Eurofighter EF-2000A Typhoon fighter. Aires is among the leading makers of resin accessories and casts its bays as precise one-piece units ready to drop in place of simplified kit parts.
The Eurofighter Typhoon is a European multirole fighter in a delta configuration with canards. On the real aircraft the landing gear bays are full of hydraulics, lines and stiffeners, which production plastic can only render in a simplified way. This set brings faithfully made bay walls and detail that, once fitted and painted, raise the realism of the underside of the model markedly.
Wash the remains of the mold release agent off the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, cut away the casting blocks and check the fit dry; slight sanding of the mating surfaces is sometimes needed (with respiratory protection). Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Spray a primer before painting and use washes and dry brushing to bring out the internal structure.
A resin accessory, not a complete model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
