A resin detail set in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Aires. It is not an aircraft kit but a set of landing flaps for the American Vought F4U-1A Corsair carrier fighter. The casting captures the flaps in a realistically lowered position together with the internal structure that plastic parts usually only suggest.
The Corsair is a legendary American fighter with its characteristic inverted gull wing. Bringing the flaps down enlivens the silhouette of a standing aircraft and reveals the structure that a kit would hide in the closed position. The set replaces the corresponding areas of the wing and, once worked in, gives the model a dynamic look, as if it were ready for takeoff.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and check the fit dry. Cut the opening for the flaps in the wing carefully with a sharp knife. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), and sand the resin with respiratory protection. Before painting, spray a primer and pick out the structures with a wash.
A resin accessory, not a complete model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
