Resin exhaust nozzles for the Bell X-1 (1:48) from Quickboost. A faithful rendering of the rocket engine outlets of the experimental aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail accessory in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost range (the Czech firm Aires). These are the exhaust nozzles of the rocket engine of the Bell X-1 experimental aircraft. The casting catches the four combustion chamber outlets with a clean profile that is hard to reach in stock plastic.
The Bell X-1 was an American rocket-powered experimental aircraft, the first to break the speed of sound in controlled flight. Its rocket engine had four combustion chambers opening at the rear of the fuselage. Faithful nozzles are among the characteristic features of the tail end, and a resin part renders them more accurately than the kit.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate them from the casting blocks and make a dry fit before gluing. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The nozzles are usually painted in metallic shades with heat toning using washes and pigments; sand resin with respiratory protection.
A resin accessory, not a complete model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
