Responsibility details are not available.
A set of painting masks from Art Scale in 1:48 scale for the Japanese Mitsubishi Ki-21 bomber in the Ib version, known to the Allies as the Sally. It is not a kit but an accessory which covers the glazing while spraying and lets the sharp frames come out. The designation one-sided means the version for one side, that is for the outer surfaces of the glazing. On a bomber with extensive nose glazing a mask is a far quicker and cleaner route than cutting tape.
The Mitsubishi Ki-21 was a twin-engine heavy bomber of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force, designated the Type 97. It was first used over China and stayed in service throughout the war in the Pacific, where it turned out that it lacked armor and defensive armament. The Ib version brought strengthened defensive armament and changes to the wing. The glazed nose and the dorsal gun position are among its most characteristic features.
Wash the glazing first and let it dry. Seat the individual parts one by one and press the edges down with a blunt tool so that paint does not seep underneath. Spray several thin coats instead of one heavy one. On large glazed areas it pays to spray the interior color of the cabin first and only then the exterior camouflage. Lift the mask off as soon as the paint has flashed off.
