1:335 Civilian 'Kid's Father'

The figure

This is a civilian figure of an adult man in 1:35 scale on the subject of a kid's father. Civilians are among the most valuable things that can be added to a modeling scene: a uniform tells about a unit, but a civilian figure tells about a place and a time. Beside a vehicle or in a street it shows at once that the scene is not set on a training ground but somewhere where people live.

Where it fits

The figure will find a use in a diorama with a civilian setting, at a roadblock, on a village green, beside a column of vehicles or at a railway station. It works well in a pair with another civilian figure, because two figures turned toward each other create a story a single figure will never make. It also serves as a size reference beside a vehicle model, where it shows the viewer at first glance how tall the machine is.

• A civilian figure of an adult man in 1:35 scale
• Suitable for a diorama and for models of military vehicles
• It shows the size of the vehicle it stands beside
• Suitable for a civilian scene without vehicles as well

Painting tips

Cut off the surplus material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder so that the folds of the clothing are preserved. Before painting, wash the figure in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let it dry. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts. Civilian clothing can take muted and mismatched shades, and it is precisely by that that it stands apart from the uniformed surroundings of the scene. The face does the most for a figure: a base skin tone, a darker wash into the eye sockets and under the chin and a gentle lightening on the forehead, the nose and the cheekbones.

Who it is for

For builders of dioramas and for modelers who want to bring a scene beside a vehicle to life. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
