Responsibility details are not available.
A decal set from Star Decals for the amphibious tracked carriers that the British called Buffalo. According to the name it covers the LVT-2 and LVT(A)-2 forms and three particular episodes of the close of the war in Western Europe: the landing on Walcheren, the fighting at Nijmegen and the crossing of the Rhine. It is a set of markings for a model in 1:35 scale.
Amphibious carriers of American design reached the British and Allied inventory above all because of the water obstacles in the Netherlands and in the Rhineland. The machine moved on tracks on land and in water drove itself with grousers on the track links, so it could run from the bank straight into a flooded polder. The LVT(A)-2 version differs from the basic one in the added armor of the hull. The landing on the island of Walcheren in the autumn of 1944 was meant to open up the port of Antwerp and in that flooded country it would not have been feasible without amphibious hardware.
The hull is densely riveted and divided up by strips, which is the most demanding base for decals there is. Apply the design onto a generously laid gloss varnish, use a stronger softener and draw the excess water off, so that the carrier film settles between the rivets. Salt and muddy water also leave bold water lines on the sides, which are best suggested once the markings are finished.
