This Star Decals set in 1:35 scale is intended for the SdKfz 250 neu armored half-track and offers markings for the Western Front. The name states the formations 2.Pz-Div, 1.SS-LAH, 9.SS-Hohenstaufen and 10.SS-Frundsberg. The model is not included in the package.
The designation neu belongs to the later, simplified production version of this light half-track. The hull was given fewer folded plates and simpler shaping, so it can be told apart from the older version at first glance - and that is exactly why it pays to check that the kit on your table matches what stands in the name of the set. Vehicles of this kind served mainly with the reconnaissance and command platoons of armored formations.
Dark yellow with a mottled pattern is typical of the year in which the listed formations were moving about in the west. Make the transitions between the shades soft and even the area under the markings out with gloss varnish. The sides of the hull are sloped and broken up on this type, so place the smaller symbols on the flat parts between the squiggles of the camouflage. Once they are fixed, work from a fine wash toward dust, so that the markings stay part of the surface and not a layer above it.
