Responsibility details are not available.
This Star Decals sheet carries the markings of Sherman Mk V tanks of the British 79th Armoured Division, both from the fighting in France in 1944 and from the training in England before the landings. It is an addition for models in 1:35 size without plastic parts.
The preparation for the landings went on for months, and British units tried their hardware out in it under conditions as close as possible to the real coast. Vehicles of that time often carried temporary exercise markings, which were changed before commitment, so two phases in the life of the same tank look different in photographs. The Sherman Mk V was the British designation for the American medium tank supplied under war aid, and in British units it was among the most widespread types. With the 79th Armoured Division it met, alongside ordinary tanks, the specially converted vehicles the unit was famous for.
Decals that lie in a store for a longer time lose their flexibility and crack during transfer. Before you start, try a design at the edge or a piece of unprinted film first; if it breaks, go over the sheet with a thin coat of clear varnish and let it dry, which joins the film together again.
