The continuation of the SS-Panthers series in 1:72 scale from Star Decals. The sheet is neither a kit nor a set of parts; it is markings with which you place a finished model with one of the two formations stated in the name, that is the Das Reich or the Totenkopf.
The Panthers of the two formations appeared in 1944 at opposite ends of the European theater. While the vehicles of the first of them tend to be associated with the fighting in the west, the second served mainly on the Eastern Front, where the armored units moved between the individual crisis sectors. The difference is visible in the markings as well: in the east large tactical numbers legible at a distance and improvised winter finishes that covered the original drawing appear more often. From one sheet a modeler thus builds two entirely different scenes. The Panther appeared with both formations in the course of 1944 and remained their strongest means right to the end of the fighting.
Smooth the base with a glossy coat and let it cure overnight. Separate the design from the paper in lukewarm water and transfer it to its place, where you straighten it with a flat brush. No air must be left under the edges, otherwise the film will turn white once dry. A dry decal will then take both a wash into the recesses and a final dusting with pigment.
