A sheet of decals in 1:72 scale with the markings of American M4A1 Sherman medium tanks from the fighting in Normandy and in France in 1944.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sherman was the most widespread American medium tank of the Second World War and was built in a whole range of versions, which differ from one another in hull, engine and armament. You will recognize the M4A1 version at first glance by its cast hull with rounded sides and soft transitions, whereas the other variants have a hull welded from flat plates. It is precisely the shape of the hull that tends to be decisive during a build, because the right placement of the markings is chosen by it as well. Machines of this type fought in 1944 in Normandy and in the further advance through France.
The set is issued as a special edition commemorating the Normandy landings and concentrates on American Shermans of the M4A1 version from the French battlefield of 1944. The designs are printed for 1:72 scale.
These are wet decals. Cut the design out tight to the edge of the print, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it releases from the backing paper. Varnish the area under the decal to a gloss first, so that no air settles under the film and no white veil arises. On rivets and edges a softener helps; the whole model is finally evened out with a matte varnish.
The sheet suits Sherman kits in a small scale, especially when you want to set a model in a particular stage of the fighting in western Europe. The sheet of decals is supplied on its own; the model, the paints and the glue do not belong with it, unless stated otherwise.
