This is not a model of the vehicle, but an accessory for painting it. The SX-Art set is prepared for the Soviet one-and-a-half-ton GAZ-AA truck in 1:35 size and saves time exactly where outlining by hand takes a whole evening: on the cab glazing and the lamps.

A little about the real subject

The GAZ-AA was built in Gorky from 1932 and grew out of the license-built American Ford AA design. The Red Army used it for everything, from supplying frontline units and evacuating the wounded to acting as the mount for anti-aircraft machine guns, and the soldiers called it nothing other than polutorka. Wartime renditions were markedly simplified against the peacetime ones: pressed and polished parts fell away, on some of the vehicles the cab was built from wood and the front fenders were given an angular shape.

How to make use of the set

Rid the clear parts of grease and fingerprints before work; on a greasy surface the mask will not seat and the shade gets under it. Direct the finish perpendicular to the edge of the mask, not at an angle under it, and apply thinned paint gradually. On old Soviet equipment a matte green base complemented by dusty undersides looks good, so leave the mask in place until you have the pigments done as well.
