Cast iron army stoves POV-57 in 1:35 scale, three pieces from SX-Art. An accessory for interior and camp scenes.
Responsibility details are not available.
Three small cast iron stoves designated POV-57, known by the nickname Burzhuika, as an accessory for dioramas in 1:35 scale. It is a prop for an interior or a camp, not a kit.
Stoves of this kind gave heat in dugouts, in tents, in wooden huts and in living quarters. The small metal box with a door, a hotplate and a flue could be set up practically anywhere. For a diorama builder they are therefore a shortcut to a human story: where a stove stands, there is heating, cooking and the drying of wet clothes. Three pieces in a set allow several scenes to be fitted out at once, or a reserve to be kept for trying out painting techniques.
Cast iron must not be black like piano lacquer. It comes out best over a dark gray base, onto which a graphite cast and fine patches of rust around the bolts and the seams are layered. The hotplate tends to be bleached toward brown by the heat, the door greasy with soot. The flue deserves the most attention, because it is on that exactly that ash and grease settle. A little ash-colored pigment on the floor around the stove will close the whole scene off.
