The third shape variant of the 200 liter drum from SX-Art comes ten pieces to a package. It is an accessory for scenery, not a kit of a machine, and it comes into play only at the moment when the main model is finished and surroundings are being looked for.

Where the drums belong

They look most natural where someone has a reason to store liquids: by a repair shop, on a ramp, next to a tanker, by a field post or simply behind a fence, where whatever is in the way gets put. Ten pieces allow something more complicated than a pile to be built. Try two rows of drums stacked on each other, a plank between them and a few pieces laid across on top. Such a small structure gives a scene depth and the viewer stops at it.

Rust and traces of use

Drums are rewarding mainly because nobody expects a clean surface on them. Rust is applied in small areas around the hoops, at the point of contact with the ground and at the edges of the lid. Inside these patches it is a good idea to add a darker core with a lighter rim around it. Suggest spilled contents down the side with a single vertical stroke of a dark glaze from top to bottom. It stands out best when the rest of the drum stays relatively untouched.
