Weighted Stryker wheels with Michelin XZL R20 tires in 1:35 scale from SX-Art. The coarse off-road pattern and the rim size follow from the name of the item.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is a replacement for the wheels on a model, not a standalone kit. The tires have the settling at the point of contact with the ground imitated, which gives the vehicle the impression of real weight. The XZL designation in the name refers to a coarse off-road tread pattern, and the R20 size to the diameter of the rim.
The eight-wheeled Stryker serves American units in a whole range of renditions and has become one of the most widespread present-day wheeled armored vehicles. It is precisely because of the eight large wheels that the chassis is markedly visible on a model and that the difference between a straight and a settled tire can be told even from a distance. On vehicles deployed off hard roads a coarser tread is expected as well, which this variant covers.
A coarse pattern gives more room for working with dirt: a darker deposit belongs in the hollows of the tread and lighter dust on the crowns. Before you start painting, align the wheels on a flat board and check that the model stands without rocking. Bring out the transition between the tire and the rim with a thin line, otherwise the whole wheel blends into a single mass. At the end it pays to compare the shade of the rubber with the running gear and the hull, so that the new wheels do not look like a foreign element on an otherwise matched model.
