DICE TOWER - CASTLE TOWER

Dice Tower Castle Tower: a dice tower in the form of a castle turret

Hobby Zone has given this gaming accessory the form of a castle tower, so on the table it does not look like a foreign box but like part of the scenery. The function is purely practical, though: dice thrown in at the top pass through the inside of the tower, turn on the way and drop out at the bottom, where they stay together. They roll nowhere and nobody has to crawl under the table.

What the tower brings to a game

• It settles one place to throw in: an end to dice among deployed units.
• It rules out the objection that someone merely placed a die or dropped it from a small height.
• The castle look goes with fantasy battles, dungeon games and historical tabletop systems.
• It takes up only a small footprint on the table, so it can be stood at the edge of the playing area.

Who it suits

It aims at players who care as much about the atmosphere at the table as about order during play. It serves well in games where a large number of dice are thrown at once and their scattering across the table is a real problem. The tower is at the same time a pleasant gift for a player who already has the figures painted and is wondering how to finish the table off. Modelers will appreciate that it can be painted up or weathered with the same techniques as terrain: a dry brush on the edges of the masonry and a darker wash into the joints do a lot of the work. Anyone who tunes the tower to the colors of their own army gets a piece that belongs at the table just as much as the deployed units.

It is supplied without dice; you choose those according to the game you play. The set of dice and their size are a matter for the rules of the particular system.
