Responsibility details are not available.
A set of masking templates for painting the canopy frames of a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 in the large 1:32 scale. The templates cover the glazing and leave only the narrow frames exposed, so a clean edge with no bleed appears after spraying. Shaped parts replace the slow business of cutting strips from adhesive tape.
The Bf 109 G-6 was the most numerously built form of the whole Gustav family. Its recognition features are the bulges on the forward fuselage, which were called for by the breeches of the heavier 13 mm fuselage machine guns. Power came from a supercharged inverted V12 Daimler-Benz engine; gun pods or rocket launchers were hung under the wings according to the task, and the machine appeared on practically every front of the Second World War. It was on this version in particular that different shapes of canopy and of vertical tail alternated during production, so masking the frames is rewarding and highly visible work on a model of this type.
First spray the frames in the interior shade so the view from inside is faithful, and only then in the external camouflage coat. Lay the paint on in thin coats at right angles to the edge of the template, otherwise mist will be driven underneath it. Before removing it, score the edge with a sharp point so the dried film does not peel away across the surface. Protect the glazing with a liquid mask during the final lacquering.
The package holds masking material; the kit, paints and glue are not in it.
