1:24/1:35 Fantasy - Violet Leaves

1:24/1:35 Fantasy - Violet Leaves (ETA diorama)

Scenic material for building vegetation, not a kit. The Fantasy range relies on colors that are not common in nature, and this set brings foliage in a violet key. According to the name it is prepared for 1:24 and 1:35 scale.

Why violet foliage works

A fantasy scene stands or falls on whether the viewer sees at once that they are looking at another world. The color of the vegetation says that fastest of all. Violet behaves rewardingly here: it is rich enough to set a scene apart, yet it holds a muted tone, so it does not shout down a figure or a building. It goes well with grayish stone, with mossy green and with warm wood, which are the most common backgrounds in this genre. It will find a use in an elven forest, by ancient ruins and in the undergrowth along a path.

Recommended procedure

• Scatter the foliage in layers rather than all at once; the result then looks natural.
• Grade the density: more at the trunks, less in the middle of an open area.
• Place some of the leaves on the ground as leaf litter, which gives the crown credibility.
• Fix it only after the layout is set, as moving seated leaves is difficult.

Who the material is for

• For builders of fantasy dioramas in 1:24 and 1:35
• For figure modelers who build a setting to go with them
• For anyone looking for vegetation outside the usual green

It is supplied as separate scenic material. The base, the figures and the glue are not included.
