A kit of the weapon designated 22,5 cm Minenwerfer M.15. It is a model in its own right, assembled and painted, not an accessory for another model. The extent of the package, the order of assembly and the recommended glue are given in the instructions from the manufacturer.
The Minenwerfer, in English a mortar, was a weapon typical of the trench phase of the First World War; the German name was carried by the trench mortars of the armies of the Central Powers. Unlike a conventional gun it had a short barrel, fired at a high angle of elevation and at short range, so it could reach a target hidden behind a parapet or in a trench itself, where a flat trajectory could not get. The projectile was extraordinarily heavy for the caliber of the barrel, because it did not have to withstand the pressures of an artillery gun. Weapons of this kind stood on simple mountings or platforms, were moved dismantled and were served by a fairly large crew. A caliber of 22.5 cm places the weapon among the heavier pieces of its kind.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and accessories are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
