Das Werk 1:35 90mm Kanonenjagdpanzer / Beobachtungspanzer 2 in 1 is an injection-molded plastic kit of a Bundeswehr tank destroyer. The package holds two versions in one, so during the build you choose between the fighting vehicle and the observation vehicle.

This is a classic injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the German brand Das Werk. The 2 in 1 marking in the name means that from one package you can build either the tank destroyer with the 90 mm gun or the observation vehicle on the same hull. It pays to decide before you start gluing the hull together, because the two versions already differ in the shape of the front plate and in the equipment of the fighting compartment.
The Kanonenjagdpanzer was a tank destroyer of the West German Bundeswehr introduced in the mid-1960s. It had no rotating turret, and the 90 mm gun was mounted directly in the front of a low armored hull. The vehicle thus had a small silhouette, and tactics with it rested on firing from a prepared position and changing place quickly, not on fighting at close quarters. The Beobachtungspanzer was based on the same chassis but served artillery observers; instead of gun armament it carried observation and signals equipment. Both vehicles were in service with the troops at the same time, so they also make sense as a pair on one shelf.
Paint the running gear and the inside of the hull before you close the hull up, because afterwards you cannot reach them. For the plastic use a thin cement that is drawn into the seam by capillary action; the joint is then cleaner than when gluing with a thick cement. Spray the whole model with primer before painting. Bundeswehr equipment of this era was worn in a uniform olive finish and also in the later three-color camouflage, so you have a choice. Once the paint has dried, bring the engraved lines out with a wash, dust the lower hull and the running gear with pigments and lay the decals onto a gloss coat. Even the surface out with a matte coat at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
