An injection-molded plastic kit of the American AAVP-7A1 amphibious assault carrier fitted with the EAAK applique armor set (Enhanced Appliqué Armor Kit) in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The model captures the characteristic applique armor panels on the hull, a well-worked interior as well as external detail, and individual track links.
The AAVP-7A1 is a tracked amphibious vehicle of the United States Marine Corps for carrying a landing force from ships to the shore. The EAAK applique armor set raised the resilience of the hull against rounds and fragments. The vehicle moves in the water by water jets and on land on tracked running gear, and it carries combined armament.
Assemble the interior and the running gear before closing the hull, and glue the individual track links with thin cement for plastic. With the applique armor panels, take care over clean joints. Spraying with an airbrush over primer and subsequent washes with dust pigments will bring out the broken-up surface of the armor.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
