About product

Antitank barriers 1:35 (Hauler)

Resin scenic accessories in 1:35 scale from Hauler. These are antitank barriers of the Czech hedgehog type, sharp steel obstacles for military dioramas. They are not vehicle models but separate accessories which fill out a defensive line, a beach or the street of a town under defense. The larger 1:35 scale stands out beside equipment and figures.

The real subject

The Czech hedgehog is an obstacle assembled and welded from steel girders into a three-dimensional star. It was originally a Czechoslovak invention for border fortifications. After the country was occupied, production continued for the German army and the obstacles appeared on the Western and the Eastern Front alike; the best known come from the coastal defenses of the Atlantic Wall.

Building and painting tips

Wash the parts free of mold release agent and cut the casting blocks off. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). For faithful metal use a dark base, steel highlights and rust created with washes and pigments, and add mud deposits according to the setting of the diorama if you wish.

Who the accessories are for

  • For builders of military dioramas in 1:35 scale.
  • For completing defensive lines, beaches and urban settings.
  • Suitable for tabletop games as terrain obstacles too.

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
