Star Decals in 1:35 scale for the special Australian M113 versions: the Fitter workshop vehicle, the RAEME vehicle and the command M577. An accessory to a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The third part of the Star Decals Vietnam theme concentrates on what tends to be rare in modeling cabinets: support and command vehicles. According to the name these are the Australian M113A1 Fitter, the M113A1 RAEME and the M577 command post. The set holds markings for 1:35 scale and it is an accessory, not a kit.
Without repair and signals vehicles a tracked unit would come to a halt within a few days. The Fitter is the workshop version of the carrier with a crane and tools, which repaired hardware right in the field. The abbreviation RAEME stands for the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, that is the Australian technical service, whose vehicles handled maintenance and recovery. The M577 is then a body version of the M113 with a raised rear part of the hull, where you can stand and spread out maps and radio sets, so it served as a mobile command post.
On these machines the order of work decides matters. There is a great deal of equipment hung on the hull, crane arms and antenna masts, so lay out in advance where the markings will go, so that an accessory glued on later does not cover them. The taller sides of the M577 offer large free areas where a design stands out best.
