Decals in 1:35 scale from Star Decals: Australian Matilda, Close Support and Dozer tank. Markings for the support and engineer versions of the Australian Matilda.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal set from the Star Decals brand in 1:35 scale. The name bounds it to two specialized versions of the Australian Matilda: the Close Support support version and the Dozer engineer version. The contents are printed markings for a finished model; you buy the kit of the tank itself separately.
The Close Support was a support variant in which a howitzer replaced the gun, intended above all for firing smoke and high-explosive shells. Against Japanese fortified positions in the jungle, where armor-piercing ammunition did not get much work done, it was a more practical tool than an accurate anti-tank barrel. The Dozer carried a blade and was first and foremost an engineer machine. It cut paths through, filled in ditches, prepared beach exits and built firing positions, and often under direct fire, which an ordinary bulldozer could not manage. Both versions moved about in the Australian units together with the standard gun tanks, so their markings follow the same system of tactical numbers and unit insignia, only with additions matching their special role.
The blade and its frames on the Dozer version shade part of the sides, so think the order of gluing through in advance. The markings are usually easier to apply before you fit the whole blade assembly permanently. Unify the base with gloss varnish, seat a decal, press it into the rivets and edges with a softener once it has dried and finally lock the model in with a matte varnish. The procedure given on the packaging takes precedence.
