The brand PANZER ART here brings a single exchange part, the barrel of the gun for the West German tank destroyer designated in short as the Kajapa. The kit of the vehicle is not included in the delivery. The replacement is used where the series part has a coarser shape at the muzzle or a visible parting line that would have to be laboriously sanded down.
The Kanonenjagdpanzer was a turretless armored vehicle of the Bundeswehr with a very low silhouette and a gun housed directly in the front of the hull. It came about in the 1960s and conceptually followed on from older casemate solutions. The caliber of the main gun was ninety millimeters and its length corresponded to forty times the caliber, which is what the figure in the name of the item expresses.
On a vehicle without a turret the axis of the gun is led through the front armor, so any deviation is conspicuous at once. Seat the part dry, check the direction from above and only then fix it. Leave the protective sleeve at the foot of the barrel a different shade for painting, so that it stands out against the metal. For unifying the whole, a light dusting with fine pigment suits, leveling the differences between the new part and the rest of the build. Do not apply paint into the muzzle at all; a dark impression is created more easily by the dry route.
