The Hobby Boss plastic kit in 1:35 scale captures the Soviet BMD-1 airborne fighting vehicle in its upgraded BMD-1P form. The kit reproduces the low hull, the turret and the running gear of this light vehicle of the airborne troops.
The BMD-1 is a Soviet amphibious airborne fighting vehicle designed to be light and air-droppable for use by airborne troops. The BMD-1P version replaced the older anti-tank system with a more modern launcher for guided missiles, which raised the anti-tank firepower of the vehicle. Its low weight and buoyancy let the vehicle cross water obstacles and be carried by air.
Finish the running gear and the road wheels before painting the hull. Soviet green comes out best over a primer sprayed with an airbrush; fine-tune the patina with washes and weathering pigments. Take care with the fine parts of the launcher and the armament.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
