An accessory for builders of the Soviet and Russian BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle from the PANZER ART marque. The set replaces the road wheels in ordinary, undamaged service condition. The vehicle itself is not included, so count on a base kit.
On tracked hardware the viewer's gaze slides down the bottom of the hull first and the wheels of the running gear are the first thing that catches it. The replacement gives a sharper rendering of the lightening holes, a more prominent rim of the rubber tire band and a surface without traces of the parting line. On a finished model that is a difference noticed even by someone who does not know what he is looking at.
The BMP-3 is unusual in having the engine placed at the rear, so the dismounts get out across the engine compartment. In the turret it carries a combination of a 100 mm gun and a 30 mm automatic cannon. The vehicle is amphibious and its running gear has to manage swimming as well as a fast move along a paved road.
First try the seating on the swing arms dry and only then glue; on the running gear every deviation shows in how the track sits. Paint the metal part of the wheel at the same time as the hull, and the rubber tire bands only afterwards with a dark gray with a little brown. You create the wear on the contact surface of the tire band by fine polishing with graphite. Apply the dust from the bottom upward, so that the transition does not look like a drawn line.
