A set of figures of British paratroopers in 1:35 scale, together in one box for filling a scene quickly.
Responsibility details are not available.
British airborne infantry is a rewarding subject, because its scenes do not need large hardware. The soldiers arrive by air and move on under their own power, so a piece of terrain, a low wall or a few crates are enough to hold a scene together. That gives the figures their typical character: the kit tight to the body, closed clothing and the movement of a man preparing for a long march.
Against buying one at a time, a set has the advantage that the figures are meant as a whole and do not compete in stance within a scene. You build them into a group that is looking around, advancing or has stopped for a conference, without having to work out what goes with what. In 1:35 scale an adult figure measures about five centimeters, so the set fits vehicles, buildings and accessories in the same scale and is usable as an escort for a finished model in a display case too.
Cut any excess material away a little distance from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder; watch the faces and the edges of the equipment above all. Then wash, degrease and prime the surface. Cyanoacrylate glue suits the joining of the parts, as it holds on ordinary modeling materials. With a group, paint all the figures at the same time step by step; you save time and the shades will match, with only the skin and the degree of grime varied slightly. Underline the folds with a wash and finish the whole with a matte varnish.
The set will suit diorama builders who need to populate a scene in one go, and modelers of military hardware in 1:35 scale looking for escorting infantry. It also suits anyone starting out with figures who wants to try the procedure on several of them at once.
Paints, glue and the other material needed to finish it are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
