This is a diorama accessory in 1:35 scale, not a model of a vehicle. The manufacturer makes this subject in four diameters - 50, 60, 70 and 80 mm - and the figure in the name is the only detail by which the variants differ from one another. The smallest of the four diameters offered suits places where the reel is to be a detail rather than a dominant feature - at a field signal hub, on the bed of a light vehicle or in the corner of a workshop.
Smaller reels carried mainly communication and telephone cable. Signals units used them to run lines between headquarters and positions, often by hand or from a moving vehicle. The support made the whole job easier: the reel was hung in it by its axle, could turn freely and the cable ran off smoothly, without tangling and without having to lift the reel.
The combination of reel and support is useful in composition too - it creates a raised object with space under it, so the scene does not look flat. It looks natural against a wall, by a vehicle or beside a figure holding the cable. The dimensions of the package, the weight and the material are stated on the box; the diameter of 50 mm is given directly in the name.
