1:35 Camo Paint Masks For Soviet MT-LB is a single-sheet set of masks for the period Soviet camouflage of the light tracked MT-LB armored vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of pre-cut shapes draws out the camouflage in the form the vehicles wore in the Soviet army. Compared with the pixel schemes of more recent times this is a pattern with larger continuous areas and a softer outline, so it makes do with one sheet and is laid down more quickly. Even so it pays to give time to the continuity across the hatches and the access covers.
The abbreviation MT-LB denotes a light armored tractor introduced in the 1960s. The vehicle was originally meant to tow guns and carry their crews, but it soon became a universal platform for mortars, antitank systems and signals and engineer versions. Its wide tracks and low weight allow it to move in boggy and snow-covered terrain alike, and that was essential in the northern regions of the Soviet Union.
Soviet equipment was often painted in the field hastily and carelessly, so you do not have to give the transitions anxious care. Once the masks are removed it is worth blurring the edges slightly in places with a thin layer of the base shade, so that the pattern does not come across as if from the factory. Dust and mud on the running gear will then round the overall impression off. A lighter spray on the upper surfaces will in turn suggest where the sun fell on the machine.
