A petty officer of the Canadian motor machine gun brigade with a brush 1:35 is a resin figure from Copper State Models for completing a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin figure in 1:35 scale captures a petty officer at an ordinary maintenance task, with a brush in his hand. It is not a vehicle kit but an accessory intended for a finished model or for a diorama. A working pose is rewarding precisely in a scene beside a vehicle, because the figure does not look static and follows on naturally from the model or from other figures. In 1:35 scale a standing figure comes out at roughly five centimeters, so it matches the ordinary vehicle models of that scale.
The figure is cast in a mold, out of which it comes with casting blocks and a fine parting line. Cut the blocks off with a saw or a scalpel and level the face with a file, so that once assembled the figure seats on the base without leaning. The parting seams need only be scraped with a blade held flat and polished. Before building, wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap because of the release agent residue. It is bonded with cyanoacrylate glue, and gaps at the shoulders or between the hand and the tool should be filled with putty. Sand resin wet and with respiratory protection.
Lay down a thin primer first, which evens the surface out and shows whether the seams really are level. Paint the uniform in thin coats from a darker shade toward lightened areas, so that the folds of the cloth stand out. The small tools and metal parts are well picked out with a dry brush and a dark glaze in the recesses. Leave the face and hands for the stage while access to the figure is still good, and build them up in thin coats. At the end, a light dusting of pigment on the footwear and the lower part of the trousers suits it well and ties the figure to the base of the diorama.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
