This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale captures the Chinese Type 83 self-propelled howitzer of 152 mm caliber. The model is made up of several sprues of gray plastic and holds finely worked tracked running gear, a large rear turret and a barrel with a muzzle brake. Decals and assembly instructions round the package out.
The Type 83 is a self-propelled howitzer of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, taken into service in the first half of the 1980s. It combines a capable gun-howitzer of 152 mm caliber with tracked running gear and a rotating turret placed at the rear of the hull. It serves to give artillery fire support at medium and longer ranges.
We recommend finishing the running gear and the lower areas of the hull before you close the superstructure. Use thin modeling cement to glue the plastic, treat the surface with a base coat and spray with an airbrush. The tracks and the chassis are worth bringing out with washes and pigments for dust and mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
