This is a diorama accessory, not a kit of equipment or of a building. According to the name the set contains three pieces of Romanesque church windows in 1:35 scale and represents version number 2 from the numbered range from RT-Diorama.

A village chapel as a scene

Dioramas need not be only about the rubble of a big city. A scene by a small stone chapel at the edge of a village is among the most rewarding subjects: it gives equipment a natural frame, makes it possible to work with greenery and lets figures stand out. A Romanesque sacred structure is an ideal real subject for that, because it is low, compact and fits on a base of reasonable size, whereas a cathedral would break the scale of a diorama. Three windows in one set match just such a small structure - two for the side wall, one for the east end of the chancel.

Tips for installation and the surroundings

• Build the wall of irregular stone with a bold joint; smooth plaster would suppress the shape of the windows.
• Seat the window rather higher - Romanesque structures have their openings small and high above the ground.
• Along the foot of the wall add grass, nettles and fallen leaves, so that the transition from structure to terrain is not sharp.
• A faint greenish cast in the lower part of the masonry will imitate damp and moss; apply it very much diluted.
