A resin figure from the range of the Spanish brand MIG productions. It is not a kit of a piece of equipment but an accessory for a diorama: the figure of an older man in civilian clothes, which brings a second, civilian layer into a military scene. The casting has the folds of the cloth and the expression of the face worked out, which is the key thing with figures of this kind, because it is precisely the face and the posture that carry the whole impression.
A civilian figure changes the meaning of a scene. Beside an armored vehicle or a truck it gives the viewer scale and at the same time creates a relationship between the equipment and the surroundings it moves through. An older man comes into his own in scenes of a village or a town on the Eastern Front, at a supply convoy, by a ruined house and in a postwar diorama. He also works well as a counterpoint to crew figures, because he breaks up an otherwise uniform group in uniform.
Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw, sand the surfaces and protect your airways while sanding resin. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), and the gaps should be filled with modeling putty. Apply a primer and only then paint. With an older face it pays to work with more pronounced transitions: a darker base for the skin, lighter coats on the forehead, the nose and the cheekbones, and a subtle red tone on the cheeks and the hands. Leave the civilian clothing rather faded and shabby, with a wash in the folds and some dust indicated at the feet, so that the figure fits into the surrounding terrain.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
