Coffins 1:35 are a diorama accessory with four pieces in the package, not a kit. They are meant for scenes of mourning, cemetery scenes and rear-area scenes.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of four pieces from the Czech maker Hauler for dioramas and vignettes in 1:35 scale. It is not a model nor a kit of equipment but an accessory of the setting. It will come into its own in scenes from a cemetery, by a church, on the bed of a wagon or a truck and everywhere the author of a composition wants to catch the civilian and the military side of wartime everyday life.
The plain wooden coffin with a lid and simple fittings was used in the European setting throughout the twentieth century, in the countryside and in field conditions. It tended to be of roughly worked boards, sometimes painted a dark color or stained, at other times left in natural wood. It is precisely the simplicity of the shape that is an advantage in 1:35 scale: the accessory is recognizable at once and calls for no complicated painting.
It pays to set the individual pieces apart. Leave some in the tone of natural wood with a light base and a glaze drawn in the direction of the grain, and paint some in a dark, slightly glossy shade that recalls stained and varnished board. Bring the fittings and the nails out with a dark metal color and fine drybrushing. Coffins laid down will be dusted by the pigment of the base, and ones leaning against a wall need a shadow at the point of contact, or they look as though they are floating. In composing the scene we recommend restraint: a less dramatic framing and clean, exact work look more dignified, and the viewer notices such a detail more than a heap of effects.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. A base, glue and paints are not included in the package.
