1:35 CONCRETE BLOCKS KIT

Concrete Blocks Kit, concrete blocks for dioramas in 1:35

The Concrete Blocks Kit set from the Spanish brand AK interactive brings into 1:35 scale the concrete blocks you know from construction sites, road barriers and modern conflict zones. It is a diorama extra, not a model of a vehicle; its task is to set equipment and figures into credible surroundings. The advantage of a separate extra is freedom: you will place the blocks exactly according to the composition the scene needs. Concrete elements are moreover among the most rewarding building stones of a scene, because they hold up from the Second World War to the present.

Use in a scene

• barriers and obstacles of city streets or of checkpoints
• the edge of a construction site, a material dump, an industrial complex
• cover for figures in combat vignettes
• vertical division of an otherwise flat base

Painting tips

The basis is a light gray base, which you will bring into play with filters and oil dots. A dark wash will bring out the joints and hollows, and a drybrush in a lighter tone will draw out the edges. Earthy pigments at the foot of the blocks will connect the extra with the surface of the diorama, and streaks around the metal fittings will add a duly weathered look.

Who the set is for

• builders of dioramas and vignettes in 1:35 scale
• modelers of modern combat equipment
• creators of urban ruins and checkpoints
• wargamers longing for spectacular terrain

The particular make-up of the package is apparent from the manufacturer's packaging; the blocks will take combination with further extras of this range.
